How to create and upload my website?
First you need to create your web pages and images on your computer. You could use for instance Nvu for creating your html pages and The Gimp for editing your images. Both tools are freely available and based on an open licence:
- Nvu is a complete Web Authoring System for Linux desktop users as well as Microsoft Windows and Macintosh users to rival programs like FrontPage and Dreamweaver. Download here The Nvu Web Authoring System for Windows, Linux and MacOS X
- GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages. Download here The Gimp for Windows, Linux and MacOS X
Secondly you need to upload your new web site. To do this you connect to your web space with a FTP program using your access info and transfer the files from your computer to our server. The Nvu Web Authoring System also has an integrated web site management tool which enables you to directly connect and upload your site to your all2all web hosting. But you can as well use any available FTP program and connect to your web space to transfer your files to your site. Remember that you need the access info (username, password and server hostname) from all2all to be able to setup your FTP-connection. It is send to you once we received your payment.

Je donne ici mon avis pour aiguiller des novices :
// SOUS LINUX //
- Quanta+ pour le code. Il permet également d'avoir le FTP intégré (comme dreamweaver) et imite en local l'arborescence distante : c'est indispensable et rare!
Nvu est un wysiwyg xhtml interessant mais ça reste un outil d'initiation... mais c'est sur que ça rival frontpage sans problème!! ;).
- Krita pour les bitmap, c'est aussi simple à utiliser que photoshop. Gimp --> incompréhensible!
- Inkscape pour les dessins vectoriels. La c'est la grande classe. super programme : même plus besoin de passer par le programme bitmap lors de l'export pour le web de vos design vectoriels!
// SOUS WINDOWS //
- Pspad pour le code + FTP (mais il n'y a pas de rapport en votre arborescence locale et celle distante).
- gimp car je ne crois pas que krita existe.
- Inkscape qui est toujours aussi bon sous windows que sous linux!
voilà qqes feed-back sur les programmes.
A savoir aussi que les webdesigner peuvent travailler sous linux quoi qu'il arrive : l'émulation windows WINE fonctionne très bien et permet d'installer des prgrammes windows (.exe) comme sous windows justement!
Ici, sous linux ubuntu edgy, j'ai internet explorer 5, 5,5 et 6 pour tester mes sites. Ceux qui ont acheté leur version illustrator, photoshop ou dreamweaver peuvent également installer ces programmes si il le veulent!

Une dernière remarque : il y a tellement de personnes - individuels ou professionels - qui piratent la suite adobe, c'est incroyable!! > Venez sous linux c'est gratuit, libre, collaboratif et tout aussi efficace!! J'ai fait le pas il y a 1 mois et j'en reviens toujours pas!!
